Shopify products not showing in ChatGPT?

Shopify makes eligible products available in AI chats: ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot through Shopify Catalog, and Google AI Mode and Gemini through the Google & YouTube channel. Whether an assistant recommends yours depends on the product record: a literal title, a type or category, a brand, an identifier, a real description, an image, and a product that is actually published. This check reads those fields and tells you which ones are missing.

What the check covers

  • The discovery surfaces on your storefront: /agents.md, the UCP endpoints, and whether robots.txt blocks the assistants’ crawlers.
  • Product structured data on the page: brand, price, availability and an identifier in the Product schema.
  • Inside the Shopify app: the type, vendor, barcode, description length, image, hidden flag and publication of your 100 most recently updated active products, plus your shipping, returns and privacy policies, with three of those fixed for you with approval.
  • Accessibility, speed and search findings on the same pages, since the same product page has to work for a person too.

What decides visibility, according to Shopify

  • Shopify Catalog carries only published products with a price, an image and no "hide from search engines" flag; draft, archived and unlisted products never reach an assistant. Selling in ChatGPT opened to millions of Shopify merchants in March 2026.
  • Shopify’s own guidance: literal titles ("Texturizing sea salt spray", not "Ocean breeze"), a specific product type or category, grouped variants, a brand, a GTIN where one exists, and complete shipping and returns policies.
  • Shopify reported AI-referred orders up roughly 13× year over year in early 2026 and tripling again by mid-year; Adobe measured AI-referred traffic converting 42 % better than other channels. The volume is still small — the point is being findable when it grows.

What you get

  • An AI shopping readiness score with the findings per product, and the fix for each: set the product type from its category, set the vendor, clear the hidden flag — applied with your approval, the original saved first.
  • The merchant tasks named honestly: add an image, add a barcode from the packaging (never a made-up one), write thirty words that say what the product is.
  • The same free plan as everything else: 3 scans a month and 3 fixes every 30 days, no card.
